Discrimination

Somehow I have to let this out of my chest, or else I cant have a good night sleep. Not long ago, I saw this on my secondary school facebook group. My ex teacher asked alumni especially those who are studying OVERSEAS to contribute articles about their current studying experience for this year's school magazine, in order to give a clearer overview and also to further motivate my juniors. Great intention isn't it? I wanted to write in as well. But look closely, she said she preferred those who are studying O-V-E-R-S-E-A-S.

This definitely rings a bell and reminds me of what had occurred few years back. When I was studying in UTAR, the same thing happened. My junior who was the editor for the magazine asked me whether I could contribute some articles for the magazine. Without hesitation I agree to do so and gave her an article the following week. However, my junior told me that my article was rejected as the teacher said my article wasn't up to standard for a student who is taking Chinese studies. Instead she compared my work to another Alumni who is a Peking University Phd holder and author. I was aware of my flaws and there were room for improvement. But why did she compared the work of a Undergraduate with a Phd holder. I was still a student and my senior is already an renowned author. It's ridiculous. My junior felt so bad for me and even apologized for giving me the trouble. Actually, she is not the one to be blame, just that the teacher has different point of view. Yea, it's rather subjective and bizarre enough though.

Now I totally got her point, she thinks those who are studying abroad are MORE important. No wonder she rejected my article, it was because I am studying LOCALLY. So is she indirectly saying those who are studying locally are less important. Hence, that means my school is a failure as it only produce a hand-full of JPA scholarship receiver? How many of us without scholarship can really afford to study abroad? Did anyone thought of the currency exchange, living cost, peer pressure, different culture and lifestyle, homesick that they have to go through if they choose to study abroad. Are they strong enough to endure such difficulties?

Everyone would love to experience the different culture overseas. If you have the chance to study abroad, go ahead, make your parents proud. On the other hand, it doesn't means that those who are studying locally wont be successful in life. It's just another stereotype. Please do not under estimate our ability, you can never predict what we will be in the future.

No offence, it's just my thoughts.Feel much better now, good night people.

Mid Autumn Festival

T Forty Two @ Empire Gallery

Hi peeps, Happy Malaysia Day. Im enjoying my long awaited weekend~
Not long ago, Mom and I decided to have our tea time at T Forty Two. Their menu display a wide range of food which comprise of salad, soup, croques, sandwiches, dessert, and hot and cold beverage. The shop is just next to Madam Kwan. Here are some pic taken on that day~

#My bangs are getting longer day by day

#The waiter handed us the menu
and I seriously cant make up my mind~
huge variety of food to choose from

#Cosy and relaxing ambience.

#Mom's cafe mocha

#Chocolate Drink,
Love their thick rich chocolate
for choco lover like me,
this is a must try

#Chicken pie, the filling is too blend,
guess they did put enough seasoning

#Double cheese thingy but i dun remember the name,
Im somehow very disappointed with this,
it's too hard and dry,
feel my teeth gonna crack after consuming one.

#Green tea macaroon

# The food was not that impressive,
but I'll definitely go back for their drinks.

Chatime Buy 1 free 1 promotion @ Subang Parade

While having my dinner in Penang Nyoya I noticed the crowd at Chatime is getting longer and longer. Due to curiousity, I went over to have a look.

#Now i know why, who can resists such attractive promotion?
my eyes went bigger when I saw BUY 1 FREE 1..
Curiousity benefited the cat

#A variety of Drinks to choose from,
any recommendation?

 #ChaTime Pearl Milk Tea,
the milk tea is quite mild and they give a generous amount of pearl,
my mouth is sore after chewing down on the pearls.

#I finally laid my hands on chatime,
i have no problem sleeping after drinking milktea at night,
good news for me.

#While waiting for mom,
I went over to Chatime after work~
The place is quite peaceful as I can enjoy my drink without worrying waiter will spill something on me

#Drink of the day Taro pudding,
the taste was okay but the pudding is delicious,
But i prefer pudding more than the pearls.
Perhaps my teeth are too lazy to chew on the pearl.

260811 Sedaya Graduation Night

One day, Zeboss suggested to hold this year's graduation ceremony in the hotel. Then i was assigned to form my committee to come out with the games. Should be no problem with that as my students were very co-operative and willing to help out, and most importantly they are obedient . Everything went well over the week until i saw the detail of works for the teachers, my name were stated at the Games MC column and also the decoration column. And the event is only a week away, i pushed my panic button. I need time to prepare the script, figure out how to decorate the ballroom. Seriously I dont have much time left, why didnt they inform me in advance? A superwoman, I am not. And why in the first place did they pick a Mandarin teacher as the MC? I'm sure that the English teachers speak better English than me.

On that praticular day (26/8/11) , after seeking permission from Zeboss I took my students out to decorate the ballroom. But to my surpirse, the ballroom blacked out while we were blowing the balloons  and got no choice but to decorate in the dark. Ironically, the rest of the ballroom were working well. Did they did it on purpose or what? Time was not on our side as school dismissed earlier on Friday and i was stucked in the jam while driving back to school.

Then I was stuck in the jam again while on the way to the hotel, it was the hari raya cum school holiday jam. Then some random dude from the car in front waved to me,speechless..not like im wearing anything revealing.

#My outfit for the event.
Tell me Is this very revealing?

#Voila~

#It turn out quite well after they switch on the lights.

 #

 #with my girls

 #with my boys

Overall, the games went smoothly and I couldn't have done this without my students' help. I owe them a big thank you for their effort and time. You cant imagine what we had gone through, im thankful enough that the event is finally over.
